• The Red Dragon service was inaugurated on 5th June 1950 and was a morning service which although part of the train started its journey from Carmarthen, the main section of the service operated out of Swansea journeying to London, Paddington with the train returning in the late afternoon but not arriving at Carmarthen until a few minutes before midnight!.
• The exGWR Castle Class locomotive accompanies the BR liveried GWR coaches in this pack and is a suitable representation of a section of the Red Dragon train which would have been seen leaving Swansea Station in the early 1950s on its journey to London.
